공하임(b.1995)은 베를린과 서울을 기반으로 활동하는 작곡가이자 사운드 아티스트이다. 물리학을 공부한 그는 시스템을 설명하는 이론의 구조와 그 너머의 원리에 지속적인 관심을 가져왔으며, 이러한 태도를 바탕으로 영화, 퍼포먼스, 전시, 무용 등 다양한 매체를 넘나들며 음악과 사운드 작업을 이어오고 있다. 그는 청취를 통해 추상적 감각이 구체적인 경험으로 전환되는 순간과 함께, 영화·비디오·무용 등의 매체 안에서 음악과 사운드가 무빙 이미지 속으로 스며들며 추상화되는 과정을 탐구한다. 특히 아날로그 매체의 물질성이 만들어내는 감각적 경험에 주목하며, 반복, 축적, 열화, 잔향과 같은 시간적 특성을 바탕으로 기억과 감각, 매체와 신체 사이의 관계를 드러낸다.
주요 작업으로는 8mm 필름영화로 구성된 개인전 《self Analogue》(GBLUE Gallery, 2023), 진동과 입자의 움직임을 활용한 퍼포먼스 <Brazil Nut Effect>(Thila Ground, 2024), 테이프 루프 설치 작업 <Panta Rhei>(2025) 등이 있으며, 서서울미술관 개관전 《호흡》(2026), 국립중앙박물관 《여기, 우리, 반가사유상》(2023) 등에 작곡가로 참여했다.
Gong Haim (b.1995) is a composer and sound artist based between Berlin and Seoul. Having studied physics, he has maintained a sustained interest in the structures of theories that explain systems and in the underlying principles beyond them. Grounded in this perspective, he has developed music and sound-based practices across diverse media including film, performance, exhibition, and dance. His work explores moments in which abstract sensations are transformed into concrete experiences through listening, while also examining how music and sound permeate moving images and become abstracted within media such as film, video, and dance. He is particularly interested in the sensory experiences produced by the materiality of analog media, revealing relationships between memory and perception, media and the body through temporal characteristics such as repetition, accumulation, degradation, and resonance.
Major works include the 8mm film-based solo exhibition self Analogue (GBLUE Gallery, 2023), the performance Brazil Nut Effect (Thila Ground, 2024), which utilizes vibration and the movement of particles, and the tape-loop installation Panta Rhei (2025). He has also participated as a composer in projects including Breathing, the opening exhibition of SeMA - Seo-Seoul Museum of Art (2026), and Here, Us, Pensive Bodhisattva at the National Museum of Korea (2023).
